Our skilled field operators are always looking for ways to contribute and bring added value to every construction project.

Orion Crane’s Operations Manager is Robert Moore. Starting in the crane industry in Alaska in 2006, Mr. Moore has operated cranes ranging from 26 tons to a 660-ton crawler crane. His work has taken him across the North Slope and throughout Alaska, including all road systems, Southeast Alaska, and Western Alaska.

He has extensive experience lifting and setting a variety of objects, including well houses, flowlines, valves, rooftop units, cell towers, antennas, and power line poles. His work has also involved loading hoppers with sand from super sacks, moving connexes, sheds, and old railroad cars, and assisting with wind turbine projects—from setting the base to installing the generator.

Additionally, he has worked on power plant sites setting transformers, installed streetlight poles along road systems, and participated in dam projects across Southeast and Southcentral Alaska, both in construction and demolition. Over the years, he has gained extensive knowledge of cranes, from assembling and disassembling them to operating them in various capacities. His experience also includes setting trusses and working on steel building construction projects.
